Engineering Works helped the customer to write a functional specification for this multi-platen, two-axis press before building it here and installation/setup at the customer site. This 11' 3" tall press has a capacity of 5.5 tons, a minimum platen size of 30"x30", and a maximum platen size of 45"x64".

Finite-element optimization of the platen to minimize deflection. Standard material sizes (such as 2x2x.120 tube, 2x2x.065 tube, 1/8x1-1/2 and 1/8x2 bar, 11-gauge plate) were indicated to reduce cost and lead time.
